Advices - Kitchen cleaning CLEANING YOUR SINK After sending murky mop water the drain, the least you can do for this kitchen workhorse, no matter its finish, is to give it a nice, long rubdown
CERAMIC AND STONE ( Granite, limeston and Marble)
- Wet a cloth with warm water, wring it out, and apply a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Rub in a circular motion from the top of the sink to the drain. On stone surfaces, avoid abrasive cleaners, which you scratch the surface; amonia and bleach products, which can dull the finish;and vinegar-and lemon-based cleansers, which can eat through stone.
- Spray the entire surface with water and wipe down with a clean cloth.
PORCELAN ENAMEL - Spritz a cloth with all-purpose cleaner and wipe down the sink from the top to the drain. Or use this time-saving tip: Fill the sink to the brim with warm water and toss in a few denture cleaning tablets. The chemicals in the tablets will cut stains. Never use abrasive pads, cleanser, or wire-bristle brushes, which can scratch the finish.

SOLID SURFACE ( Such as Avonite and Corian)
High-Gloss Finish - Dip a cloth in a mixture of one part white vinegar and one part water and wipe down the sink from top to bottom in a circular motion
Matte and Satin Finishes - Dampen a cloth with water and a squirt of dishwashing liquid. Wipe down the sink using the same techniqued for a high-gloss finish.Avoid products with bleach, wchich can leave spots.
STAINLESS STEEL - Wet a cloth with warm water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Rub with the grain to lift dirt. Dont use ammonia or bleach, which can dull steel, or abrasive sponges and cleansers, which can scratch it.
- Blot dry: allowing water to evaporate naturally can cause water deposits.
- Apply a thin layer of stainless-steel polish according to the package instructions, wiping off any excess.
- Buff the polish onto the steel with a clean, dry cloth, going with the grain.
